What kind of challenges can yoga therapy help with?
Pretty much everything! I’ve worked with many different people in my years as a yoga therapist. Some clients are dealing with neurological issues, joint replacements, anxiety, back pain, to name a few or want to run a marathon and need help with movement analysis and breathing techniques. The free consultation will determine if yoga therapy is a good fit for you.
How much does yoga therapy cost?
A free consultation is provided to see if yoga therapy is a good fit. From there a 90 minute assessment takes place for $120. After that a plan is put in place. Your options are then to have individual sessions for $90 or purchase a 4-pack for $320, saving you $40.
What is included in my yoga therapy purchase?
As your yoga therapist, Kim will create a general care plan to help you meet your goals. You can do as many sessions as you’d like, you simply renew your 4-pack until you feel ready. Included are email check ins and reminders as well as personalized videos.
Is Yoga Therapy covered by insurance?
Yoga therapy is currently not covered under insurance. HSA funds may possibly be used for yoga therapy depending on your insurance.
Where do the sessions take place?
Yoga therapy sessions are held either at my home studio, your home or virtually. If the driving distance is more than 25 miles, a travel fee is added.
How does a yoga therapist become certified?
A yoga therapist has to be a registered yoga teacher before applying for a yoga therapy certification. Once accepted by an accredited yoga therapy school, the training takes 800 hours. The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) requires passing their “boards” in order to be certified.
If I’m not able to get on the floor, can yoga therapy still help me?
Absolutely! Yoga therapy is about your unique challenges and meeting your goals. If you’re recovering from an injury, dealing with a condition, needing to reduce stress and anxiety, yoga therapy can help even if there are physical limitations.
